Yep. FCC is sure faster now then back in 1989 when I got my Novice ticket. (KB7IXN)
So, not that my current call is good for another 10 years, why not change to a Ø call sign to reflect the district in which I live? Well, I have always beleived that you should have a call from your district, to I took the plunge. I applied for a Ø vanity call. If I don’t get the ONE I applied for, I will keep N7CZ and sign /Ø.
So, looking at changing my call has me thinking of my previous calls from over the years. They are:
KB7IXN (Novice), N7PUW (Technician/General), KG7PI (Advanced), AA7PD (Systematic Extra), KQ7K (First Vanity), N7CZ (Second Vanity). With any luck, I’ll have a new Ø call soon. I’m not sure how long it takes these days, but hopefully I’ll know the results of the application soon.

Well, looking at the predictions on AE7Q’s web site, looks like I was way to late applying for the call sign and it will be granted to someone else. So, I’ll just keep N7CZ. I’m not going back down to a 2×2 nor would I be happy with a 2×1. Not that there are any of those to chose from in this call district anyway.
Keeping my old call will save me quite a bit of money. So, its all good!
